Institute of Physics

The Institute of Physics (IOP) is a scientific charity that works to advance physics education, research and application. It was founded in 1874 and has a worldwide membership of over 50,000. The IOP supports physics in education, research and industry.

Society for Popular Astronomy

The Society for Popular Astronomy brings astronomy to everyone. Whether you are young or old, a beginner or an experienced sky watcher, you'll get a great deal from the SPA. Formed in 1953 as the Junior Astronomical Society, the SPA is Britain's brightest astronomy society. we are particularly focused on helping the beginner to this, the oldest of sciences which still makes an enjoyable hobby in our modern day.

Federation of Astronomical Societies

Formed in 1974, the FAS was conceived as a sort of union of astronomical societies, groups, and individuals, liasing together, where practicable, for their mutual benefit. Befenits include lists of people prepared to give talks, the encouragement of the teaching of astronomy in educational establishments, the giving of advice on problems commonly encountered by astronomical societies, and so on.

British Astronomical Association

The British Astronomical Association is a national organisation, founded in 1890, which encourages amateur astronomy through meetings, sectional groups and its publications.
